A. Ha!!! Ha!!! ha!!! Very funny. If you must know. there's many forms of humor. It's all around you. If you look,hear,&see. The list is endless. Humor is a form of communication that starts from light to Dark. Depends on who's on it or who's involved. You see, As we grow up, we develop our wits by our parents or people we interact with. As we get older our humor grows with us. Me, myself. I enjoy all humor. Especially (sarcastic. and humor that you can get away with it.!!!) But be very careful with it. A. Make a mental copy of the jokes you read in YA and when you are with your friends in (real life) paste them into any situation you see fit. By the time you hit Senior year I'm sure you will have improved. I think it works like alcoholism, the first step is admitting that you have a problem, I'm proud of you little Ran for stepping out of denial.

Do you find humor in putting a wine bottle in a much larger box as a prank in a yankee swap party?

A. That's kind of the point of a Yankee swap party isn't it---I take that to mean what an American calls a white elephant. Best of luck, I've seen quite a few people that do a framed picture of themself, with a gift card hidden behind it.

A. Learn to laugh at yourself. There's a ton of material there, yet most people never tap into it. As an ice breaker, self-effacing humor is the best for putting people at ease around you. The impression is that you are honest, intelligent, and humble. In other words...interesting.

How can you regain sense of humor and ability to be outwardly warm/expressive after a trauma?
Q. I suffer from post traumatic stress and social anxiety. What can I do to regain my sense of humor and feel comfortable expressing myself outwardly? A. Time. The only cure is time. But remember that any day you can open your eyes is a good day. Take baby steps. Go to a park or a beach when no one is around. Enjoy the sensations of nature. If you can manage it, go get a massage. Ask the massuese not to talk and just relax and feel the massage as something meant to feel good. Always remember that the possibility of getting back to normal is there, so just have patience and persistance. Take care.

A. I'm not a scientist, so for questions like this I like the WNYC Radio Lab podcast because they do a good job of synthesizing difficult scientific questions in an entertaining and educational way. They've looked at laughter (which is related to but still separate from humor). In the process, they talk to scientists and refer to their work, so it's a good way to find actual scientists who are working on questions you're interested in: Laughter: Is it just a human thing? They mention a book about Laughter: Laughter: A Scientific Investigation Hope this is helpful.

A. A satire is usually something which is based on what a person has done, or failed to do - impersonations in otherwords. Good satirists also create impersonations, much like sasha bowen cohen with Borat and Ali G. Humour is the reaction that people give towards satire. I believe it was infact, the greeks that said that all forms of comedy have satire in them.

A. Absolutely, my family and I have a certain sense of humor characterized by wit and word play. I expect it was from my family's above average intelligence. Certain families are just more literate than others and there are certainly more snobby families than mine who have their own sense of humor. Rememeber "Trading Places" with Eddie Murphy? Hopefully, not that bad.. but the rich and "sophisticated" have their own brand. I wouldn't know. But I suspect educated families laugh at jokes others would not. I know, I taught and many jokes went over the kids' heads cuz they didn't know WTH was going on? A joke about the TV show "Trading Rubble" instead of "Trading Spaces" did not work until I had to teach them what the word "rubble" meant... yeah,… [cont.]
