Do you think less of people like Dstr & Superpolitics knowing they automatically block opposing views?
Q. It seems to me they must not be very secure in their viewpoints if they can't handle other opinions. What do you think? Dstr just asked a question about General Petraeus within the last hour or so in this category. It was blocked. I haven't seen Superpolitics on today, but he was blocking questions yesterday. I find such an unwillingness to actually discuss issues very pathetic. Anyone who looks at my history of answers knows I am honest, but not nasty. I think the worst I have ever said about someone was that they were talking out of their butt...and to be frank...they were. Let's be honest here...that's pretty tame for Y/A. Actually, it doesn't bother me that I'm blocked...I just want to call attention to the hypocrisy of the person(s) [cont.]

Democrats & Republicans do you feel safe posting your opposing views of the US Government?
Q. What concerns me is that the Bush Administration seems to be heavyhanded when it comes to our rights, as the firings of the "non-republican" Attorney generals showed. Are democrats or even republican opposers in this country are prone to being harrassed or arrested under his presidency? I do oppose Bush for what I see are lies, misconceptions, and hypocrisy. And because I am a democrat, I feel that I am more likely to be harrassed than if I were a republican. Does anyone else feel this way? I don't think it's paranoia at all. Remember the McCarthy Era?

A. It is not paranoia to have legit concerns about political affiliations and the consequences. The fact is our government has a documented track record of harassing those they perceive as dissenters. The Bush administration is the most authoritarian and viscous administration I can remember. Does anyone remember Ari Fleischer {sp} (press secretary 1 st. Bush term.) saying during a press conference "Americans should be careful of whom they criticize" (I am paraphrasing based on my memory), that greatly alarmed me and I think it says enough about fears of speaking out against the Bush Cheney mafia. The level of people's fervor and the lengths they are willing to go in this current climate is also something that is alarming too many.
